Ticket products
Regular paper bus tickets are sold for trips in Finland by Matkahuolto service outlets as well as
by some Matkahuolto agents and many travel agencies.
If you wish, you can reserve tickets in advance and pay for and collect them at an R kiosk. A
bus ticket reserved in advance can be paid for and collected at any of the 720 R kiosks in Finland.
To make the reservation, call Matkahuolto’s nationwide service number 0200 4000 (€ 1.50
per min + local network charge) Monday-Saturday from 7:00 to 21:00 and Sundays from 8:00 to 21:00,
or visit a Matkahuolto service outlet. You can claim the ticket at the nearest R kiosk at your
convenience. Check the location of the R kiosk using the R kiosk search function on the
R kiosk web site.
Matkahuolto's travel cards are sold and recharged by Matkahuolto service outlets and a number
of Matkahuolto agents. A travel card purchased from Matkahuolto or a Matkahuolto agent can be
re-loaded onboard the bus as well.
Matkahuolto's travel cards cost € 6.50 and can be recharged. Depending on the type of
card involved, ticket products can be loaded on the card for a period of 3 to 5 years, after which
a new card must be purchased.The charge for the card is not refundable.Please handle the card with
care and keep it preferably in a separate folder. Make sure that it is not soiled, scratched or
bent.Matkahuolto accepts no responsibility for any costs incurred as a result of loss or careless
handling of the card.
Matkahuolto's service outlets accept payments in cash, with Finnish charge cards, credit
cards issued by Luottokunta (Eurocard, Visa, Master Card), American Express, and Diners Club.
Additionally, Visa Electron and the current credit card issued by Nordea Asiakasrahoitus Oy are
acceptable methods of payment. Matkahuolto agents and travel agencies accept different means of
payment according to their in-house policies.
