Most likely there is no direct connection for the requested route or a connection with
transfers that the operators would have guaranteed to ensure the continuation of the trip. Another
possibility is that there are no timetables in the database for the requested date, if the date
applies to the next timetable season. Usually, the timetable season changes at the end of the year,
when school holidays start in June and when school starts in August. Moreover, all services are not
run every day.
Why does the search return the message "Check spelling" even though I selected the
destination from the list?
The most common reason why a message to check spelling is received is that the search fields
have not been cleared between searches by clicking the Clear button. If the fields are not cleared,
the search application may mix criteria from two searches, resulting in this type of error.
I
looked for departures for busses from Hamina bus station to Lahti bus station but there is
no such option as "Hamina bus station".
In the timetables, the name of the town refers to the bus station, the local
Matkahuolto terminal, or some other main stop for busses.
I was unable to find any timetables for busses between Kamppi, Helsinki, and Tapiola,
Espoo. Did I make some mistake?
Matkahuolto's timetable search includes the long-distance services of about 400 bus
operators registered in the system as well as the timetables for nearly all regional services.
Local timetables are also available for some localities. Services within the Metropolitan Area
Council YTV (Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa, Kauniainen, and Kerava) are not covered by Matkahuolto's
system. For timetables for local services, visit
YTV's website.
Why does the timetable search fail to return a night bus departing on Friday at 2:15?
The timetable search is based on dates. The day beings at 00:00 and ends at 23:59.
That is why timetables for busses departing during the night between Friday and Saturday after
00:00 can be found using Saturday's date.
I am planning to make a trip from Turku to the Helsinki-Vantaa Airport. There is supposed
to be a transfer at the Ikea bus stop in Espoo, but the time allowed for the transfer is 0 minutes.
Can I be sure that the bus going to the airport will wait for me?
All the transfers shown in Matkahuolto's timetable search system are guaranteed. But it is
advisable to mention the next leg of the journey to the driver of the first bus so he or she can
inform the driver of the next bus about the transfer passengers, if the first bus is running late.
Why is it not possible to make inquiries about timetables on the feedback form?
The timetables for the busses included in Matkahuolto's system are found on our website using
the timetable search function. Timetables are also available free of charge at Matkahuolto's and
its agents' service outlets. Information about timetables is available every day year round at 0200
4000 for € 1,50 per min + local network charge.
What do the abbreviations often seen in the timetables mean, for example th, las, and
ras?
th = road junction, often on a main road, giving access to the village/town concerned
las = bus station
ras = railway station
kk = village centre
kko = church
