Quick Bus Parcel deliveries to Sweden!
The service is provided in collaboration with Bussgods AB of Sweden. The parcels
are first delivered to Kemi on the Finnish side of the border where they are entered in
Bussgods’ system and then transported to Sweden daily. The parcels reach the recipients in 2
to 3 days.
For the Swedish leg of the journey, consignments can be tracked and traced by accessing
Bussgods AB’s website at
www.bussgods.se and selecting "sök frakt". To
look up your consignment, enter the number on your Matkahuolto address card with the alphabetic
characters.
For Finland, tracing is available at
track & trace.
To access Bussgods AB’s list of terminals, you need Adobe Acrobat Reader. You can
download the program from
Adobe’s
website free of charge. The list of terminals can be found
here.
Parcels to Sweden and Limited Quantities (LQ)
Dangerous goods, i.e. ADR consignments, cannot be transported as bus freight parcels to
Sweden.
However, limited quantities, i.e. LQ consignments, of some hazardous ADR substances can be
sent as bus freight parcels to Sweden via the Finnish border city of Kemi.
The consignor (sender) is always liable for verifying that the ADR in question can be sent as
a LQ consignment, as not all hazardous substances and dangerous goods can be sent in LQ
amounts.
The consignor must report the gross weight of the LQ quantities to Matkahuolto in writing before dispatch. The amount is then indicated on the Contents/ADR field of the parcel label. The information can also be included as a document attached near the parcel label so as to be easily apparent. (Decree of the Ministry of Transport and Communications on the Transport of Dangerous Goods by Road (4.3.2009/171), Appendix A, Section 3.4.9.)
The gross weight of the LQ consignment is then figured into the transport calculation; the total
quantity of ADR carried on a single bus may not exceed 200 kg.
